RCSA Agreement Making Workshops

SPECIAL NOTICES FOR ALL CORPORATE MEMBERS

Workplace Agreements for Recruitment and On – Hire.

RCSA is conducting pilot Agreement Making Workshops, in preparation for further assistance in implementing Workplace Agreements in 2007. These workshops are FREE.

The Melbourne workshop is fully subscribed but there are still vacancies in

Sydney – on WEDNESDAY 15th December, 9am1pm.

Are you considering the use of AWA’s or a collective workplace agreement under the WorkChoices system?

Following the recent High Court decision which confirmed that WorkChoices is here to stay, many recruiters have become interested in how to implement workplace agreements for on-hired employees and internal staff.

RCSA will be running a government sponsored half day workshop on how to implement workplace agreements in recruitment firms.

Only a limited number of participants can attend so you must book.

The training will be delivered by industry specialist Charles Cameron of Stratecom and will be attended by the OEA and other specialists in workplace relations.

The training will cover the following:

  1. Agreements under WorkChoices
  2. Reasons for making an agreement
  3. Workplace agreement options
  4. What to put in an agreement
  5. The process for making an agreement
  6. Selecting the right agreement

Please email bss@rcsa.com.au as soon as possible, if you are interested in participating.

NOTE: We already have a waiting list for further sessions in 2007 – if you wish to be included on the waiting list please email bss@rcsa.com.au and indicate you wish to be put on the Agreement Making Workshop waiting list – this includes opportunities in other Regions.

RCSA Sample Australian Workplace Agreements & Prohibited Content – Further Update

The OEA have indicated that the draft template Australian Workplace Agreement for Recruitment Consultant Employees has prohibited content and should be reviewed. RCSA’s advisers Cooper Grace Ward Lawyers have responded to this comment and we await further feedback. Members who have purchased this document should contact Cooper Grace Ward Lawyers, as part of their advisory service, to clarify any revisions they made need to do in the interim.

The OEA has also indicated that, at this point, with respect to the draft templates Australian Workplace Agreement for Casual and Non – Casual On-Hire Employees and the Clerical Temporary Employees (NSW) they are unable to conclude whether the Agreement contains prohibited content.

RCSA Members are advised to ensure they use the advisory service hours they are entitled to, when purchasing these documents, or alternatively ensure their own legal advisers are aware of this correspondence from the OEA – if they are not using the RCSA’s providers.

The sample AWA's are still recognized as valuable documents for Members and the consulting advice included in the purchase cost will ensure that any concerns raised by the OEA will be addressed.
