The RCSA Professional Diploma in Human Resource Consulting is a four unit part-time off campus learning program developed in association with the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University. The program focuses on contemporary HR Consulting and Management.

In today’s competitive Recruitment Industry, consultants need to be equipped with up to date academic knowledge of the various activities in Human Resource Management.

Managing candidates, not only through recruitment and selection and the various activities involved with this procedure, but also to have an in-depth understanding as to why they are carried out. Through this quality undergraduate program you will learn why and what comes “before” and “after” the recruitment and selection process. You will expand your knowledge further to gain an understanding of managing people, financial management or marketing by choosing the various elective units on offer.

Course Structure
• Off campus learning (anywhere in Australia and New Zealand)
• Students can complete one unit per semester.
• On average it requires approximately 12 hours study per week per unit.
• 2 assignments per unit and an exam at the end of the Semester.
• 2 core units (MGW2322 Recruitment and Selection and MGW 2430 Human Resource Management) + 2 electives

Purpose
To equip Recruitment Professionals with a much better understanding of contemporary recruitment consulting functions and exploring its links with strategic human resource management.

The program is offered at an undergraduate level and has been designed to encourage use of work-related issues as an avenue for learning.

Each subject is a 13-week (one semester) program requiring on average, 12 hours of study per week. It is strongly recommended that candidates unfamiliar with tertiary study undertake one subject per semester. This would enable the successful completion of the course in one year.

Requests for RPL must be made in writing to Monash University, together with supporting documents, including proof of successful completion,program outlines and assessment methods. Credit may be obtained, however, it is necessary to complete two subjects for the RCSA Professional Certificate in Human Resource Consulting, and a further two subjects to successfully complete the RCSA Professional Diploma in Human Resource Consulting.

Articulating into A Monash University Course
On completion of the RCSA Diploma of Human Resource Consulting program, a student who has received a credit grade average for their studies with the RCSA, would be accepted into the Monash Diploma of Business or the Bachelor of Business and Commerce and receive credit for four units. Both courses are HECS based courses.The Diploma of Business fully articulates into the Bachelor of Business and Commerce program.

Entry Requirements
Admission is open to those who have successfully completed the RCSA Professional Certificate.

Application Procedures and Enrolment Dates
The last date for receipt of applications is:

Please return the APPLICATION FORM together with evidence of satisfying entrance requirements to Monash University.

New students need to supply a passport size photo with their name printed on the back, to enable a student identity card to be prepared. This will allow unit materials to be despatched in time for the start of semester.

Students must submit a new application form for each semester of intended study.

As most of the learning materials are not returnable, a full refund cannot be made after the closing date. However, written cancellation can be accepted up to 4 weeks after the commencement of the semester, but will attract a 50% cancellation fee.

Although RCSA takes all steps and measurements encouraging students to enrol for the next semester, the RCSA does not take responsibility for lost or late enrolments. It is the responsibility of the student to enrol every semester that study is intended.

Cost
Please contact Monash University for information relating to fees applicable. Monash fees are inclusive of all university-supplied materials. Students are required to purchase prescribed textbooks for each unit and should allow approx $100 per unit. Unit Changes and Withdrawals
Should you wish to change your unit enrolment, you must advise Monash University in writing.

If you withdraw from a unit or course in the first two weeks of the semester, there is no academic or financial penalty.

You may withdraw from a unit in weeks three and four and no financial penalty will be imposed however, the unit will appear on your academic record as a discontinued and the date of discontinuation will be disclosed.

Withdrawal from a unit from the fifth week to the first day of the 10th week of the semester will show on your academic record as discontinued with the date of discontinuation, and you will be charged for the unit. A withdrawal made after the first day of the 10th week of the semester will show as a fail grade.

All enrolments are subject to the following standardised conditions:

All requests for withdrawal must be in writing. Note: Withdrawal includes change of enrolments to another subject.
Withdrawal/deferral prior to commencement of Semester will incur no academic penalties. 90% refund will be made on return of all study material to Monash.
Withdrawal/deferral during the first four weeks of Semester, 50% refund will be made and no academic penalties will be incurred.
Withdrawal/deferral after the fourth week of Semester, no refund of payment will be made and academic penalties will be incurred.

'Fail' grades are usually recorded for withdrawals after the end of the eighth week of a Semester. These dates are detailed in your enrolment confirmation letter.

It is therefore essential that you contact Monash University if you are having difficulties to discuss your options in the first four weeks of the Semester.

Technology Requirements
It is recommended that students have access to a personal computer. (Note that the Faculty of Business and Economics, Gippsland campus, operates in an IBM-compatible Windows environment.) It is also recommended that students have access to a modem to facilitate email communication with teaching staff.

Learning Materials
Learning materials are generally mailed to students. The materials are carefully structured and specially designed for independent study and are a combination of print, audio, video, computer disk, CD-ROM, world wide web or experimental kit. Online delivery of materials is becoming progressively more important.

The materials provide an overview of studying the unit, the assessment requirements, unit content and some reading and reference material. They may also be supplemented by a computer-mediated communication system to facilitate interaction with reach staff and fellow students. Most units have prescribed textbooks(s), and some may require software that the student is responsible for purchasing.

Some, or all, of the unit learning materials are mailed out prior to the commencement of semester. Students may commence studying as soon as the materials are received.

Academic Assistance
Academic assistance with the materials can be obtained from teaching staff by telephone, letter, facsimile, electronic mail, discussion groups and other forms of computer-mediated communication. These technologies are also used to enable students to contact other students studying the same unit. More information on these will be provided following enrolment.

RCSA Learning Network
A discussion area in the Student Room of the RCSA website provides a forum for students to exchange questions and information. The Student Room also hosts the Secondhand Bookshop.
