Professional development and events were at the centre of the RCSA's program for 2007-2008. The Accredited Professional Recruiter (APR) scheme is now in full swing. The RCSA had a very strong year, as did the broader recruitment and on-hire sector.

2006 Annual Report
In a year that has seen many changes to the workplace and thus the recruitment and on-hire industry, RCSA has played a pivotal role. So I am pleased to have been elected President at such an exciting and challenging time. My mission as President is to create an even more professional recruitment and on-hire industry at every level. This is absolutely crucial to enhancing the standing of our industry amongst all stakeholders, and to ensuring we deliver the best possible service to both clients and candidates.

Each year my remarks in this report have focussed on our growth and our achievements; but with such success often comes unwarranted attention on who we are and what we do in the marketplace, and much of the focus continues to be on the debate surrounding our role in the employment landscape in Australia and New Zealand. The reports from our legislative committees are testimony to the work being done on behalf of Members to ensure correct information and resources are available to those making legislative decisions in Australia and New Zealand.

2004 Annual Report
Last year I remarked on the constant change within our industry. In 2004 this remark is still true, perhaps proving that change is habit forming. Our industry has renewed its growth and added to our reputation as more than simple placement consultants in a $11 billion plus a year industry. As an industry we add value to the Australian and New Zealand economies. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, we add more value to GDP than traditional professions such as accountants or lawyers.
