Assist with Compliance with WHS Laws (BSBWHS402)

 

Overview:

With the constantly evolving workplace environment and changing work patterns and practices, organisations are facing increasing complexity, range and depth of WHS issues and related responsibilities reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of environmental and technological issues and health factors (such as stress, bullying, harassment and fatigue).

In meeting their moral and legal obligation to provide a safe workplace, more organisation are viewing WHS compliance as a critical business area, implementing more proactive regulatory processes with an increasing focus on education and business support initiatives.

Designed to clarify and increase your knowledge of the key areas of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and Regulations, this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to assist with providing advice about the legislative duties, rights and obligations of individuals and parties prescribed in work health and safety legislation, and the necessary actions to ensure compliance in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Assist with determining the legal framework for WHS in the workplace
  • Assist with providing advice on WHS compliance
  • Assist with WHS legislation compliance measures

Participants:

This course is suitable for people who work in a broad range of WHS roles across all industries who assist with providing advice about the legislative duties, rights and obligations of individuals and parties prescribed in WHS laws as part of a systematic approach to managing WHS.

Learning Pathways:

Participants have the option to complete a post-course assessment, within three months from the date of the course.

Upon successful completion of the post-course assessment, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws. This will give you credit into the Certificate IV in WHS or entry into the Diploma of WHS, or a range of other nationally recognised qualifications.
