Resiliency for Recruitment Consultants

Overview:

“Resilient people have strong personal resources and skills to manage stress and conflict as well as a good support network to help them deal with the pressures of work. Results are found through increased productivity, reduced turnover, clear work/life integration, greater workplace engagement and a mentally healthy workplace.”

As a recruitment consultant learn how to project your resilience by recognising and managing the stresses of Business Development activities, rejections/negotiations and management expectations which can lead to burn out.

Dr Natalie Flatt has designed exclusive to RCSA Members this Recruitment Consultant  resilience workshop targeting recruitment specific areas.  This is a great way to introduce yourself or your front line leaders the key components of resilience.  The workshop raises awareness of the relationship between resilience, health and performance.

The workshop will cover:

Part I  - Compartmentalising Cognitive Load to Optimise the Way we Process Information

“Compartmentalisation is a defence mechanism how our minds deal with conflicting internal standpoints simultaneously. Don’t think of it as work/life balance; it’s work/life integration.”

Participants will use cognitive strategies to:

  • Learn how to become emotionally detached from low priority tasks
  • Set personal and professional rules
  • Reduce worry and stress time on current uncontrollable events in your life
  • Use the environment around you to seek out places where you conduct specific types of work.

Part II - Development of Psychological Agility

“A resilient individual is someone who maintains good mental health and productivity generally, as well as during times of stress or adversity. Having psychological agility enables us to be more adaptable, less reactive, perform at our best, be more strategic and access our best practical and cognitive skills.”

Participants will use cognitive strategies to:

  • Identify Experiential Avoidance and its consequential behaviour
  • Learn to develop Psychological Flexibility; a mindful approach to pursuing one’s values even in the face of emotional, cognitive, and real-world challenges
  • Recognise and labeling thoughts and emotions, accepting and then acting on emotions.

Part III - Cultivation of Equanimity to Increase Positive Work Relationships & Dealing with Conflict and Reasonable Management Action

"In many cases, effective conflict resolution skills can make the difference between positive and negative outcomes"

Participant will use cognitive strategies to:

  • Increase insight into how work/life goals can be achieved without undermining other co-workers
  • Develop stronger mutual respect and group cohesion
  • Improve self-knowledge through examination of personal targets with the aim of sharpening focus and enhancing effectiveness.
