Overview:

The role of social media in recruitment has grown considerably in recent years and shows no sign of slowing down. Recruiters are leveraging social platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to source and attract talent. The perks of this are attracting passive candidates, increasing agency brand recognition, and targeting the best candidates with a specific skill set.  On the flip side job seekers are also turning to social media as part of their job search, thus recruiters must get savvy to this and meet them where they are.

With 2.4 billion users globally on Facebook, as opposed to only 310 million users on LinkedIn – we need to take a long hard look at where we are sourcing our candidates from. Twitter also has more users globally with 330 million users globally.

This virtual video workshops aims to broaden your horizons using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as a sourcing platforms.  Join global sourcing specialist, Vanessa Raath who encourages recruiters to search for those hard to find candidates in different places. She would rather find candidates who are making an impact on these platforms as these are the ‘A Players’ that you want to put in front of your clients.

  • The difference between the @ symbol and a # hashtag
  • How to measure our posting via analytics
  • How to connect your LinkedIn & Twitter accounts
  • How to run a native search on the platform, how to x-ray into Twitter and how to use 3rd party applications to make your life easier

Instagram: 

  • How to find people by the hashtags that they use and what information they have provided in their Bios
  • How to find information about events by following the official hashtag
  • How to run an x-ray search from Google into Instagram

Meet the facilitator: Vanessa Raath



Vanessa Raath is determined to bring the ‘Human Element’ back into today’s Recruitment Process as she believes it has been lacking for too long now!

Vanessa believes that people are the core building blocks of every business but that doesn’t mean that we can treat every ‘block’ the same. With over 10 years’ experience in the Recruitment Industry, Vanessa specialised in the IT Applications space for most of this time. Before starting her career in Recruitment, she taught unruly children in London; operated a chairlift in the USA and taught people to Scuba Dive in SE Asia.
