Coping during COVID-19: Face It & Feel It
Overview:
COVID-19 is changing the way we live and work. How do we cope?
This is a two-part webinar series complimentary for RCSA Members and their Clients. The series will cover learning towards Facing the fear and the emotional driver behind the current human response to the pandemic and Feeling It is the ultimate key to coping and dealing during this highly emotional state.
Learning Outcomes: Face It
Fear is the emotional driver behind the current human response to COVID-19. Our ‘fear vortex’ is like an elastic band that stretches and contracts through different situations as fear of the unknown and even fear of survival kicks in. This fear creates an Emotional Hijack and like all emotions, is highly contagious. For workplaces, fear within staff or clients can be a recipe for disaster. Knowing how to disrupt the Emotional Hijack to regulate the fear is key during these times.
What your teams will learn:
- All about the ‘F’ word (Fear)
- The science behind the emotional brain and ‘emotional hijacks’
- 5 step process to disrupting an Emotional Hijack
Learning Outcomes: Feel It
Empathy is the ultimate key to dealing with people in a highly emotional state and is very different to sympathy. It's about recognising, recalling and regulating emotions. For very few it comes naturally and for others it can be taught. Either way an absolute game changer and the ultimate differentiator for any impacted by COVID-19.
