Case Studies of the RCSA Code in Practice

Case Studies of the RCSA Code in Practice

Series Overview:

The RCSA Code of Professional Conduct embodies the required standards of professional behaviour for all RCSA members.

The Code was updated on the 8th August 2020 in response to increased regulatory oversight in the industry, such as labour hire licensing and statutory provision. These changes see RCSA moving from an industry regulator to a more appropriate role, enforcing standards of professional conduct. This new version of the Code of Professional Conduct requires all members to meet the standard of professional conduct required and ensure their businesses are run with operational integrity.

By choosing RCSA Members when seeking workforce services providers, candidates, jobseekers, workers, clients, businesses and government can expect a high standard of ethical conduct and professional behaviour.

To support Member's Professional Development across the new code values RCSA are introducing The Code in Practice, a regular free webinar series that is case study driven, where you will learn how to apply the Code in the real world.

Facilitated by Ross Clennett, FRCSA and a guest panelist, each session aims to explain what professionalism looks like in the context of the industry using historical case study scenarios.

Please note Session Time: 11.00pm - 11.45pm AEDT*

Presented by Ross Clennett, FRCSA

Ross is a high performance recruitment coach and recruitment industry blogger and commentator, as well as an RCSA Promote and Protect Committee  (PPC)  member. Since 2003 Ross has run his own business, RossClennett.com, providing a range of services to the recruitment industry in Australia and New Zealand. For over fifteen years Ross has been writing forthright opinion pieces on recruitment, the recruitment industry, the labour market and high performance.

Since 2007 Ross has been publishing a popular weekly blog. Ross has been professionally recognised by the designation, Fellow (FRCSA) awarded by the RCSA. In 2011 and 2012 Ross was a national finalist in the RCSA’s Outstanding Contribution Award given, amongst other criteria, to a person who has raised the professionalism of the industry through their contribution.

Panellist:  Janice McNabb, FRCSA (Life)

Janice McNab, FRCSA (Life) is General Manager of TradeStaff, New Zealand and was awarded RCSA Life Membership in 2018.  Janice is the organisation's matriarch – a woman who started 20 years ago at Tradestaff ground zero and has since been instrumental in driving the business to where it is today. Both respected and beloved by her employees and colleagues, Janice has had a profound effect on the culture, growth and success of Tradestaff over the years.

Janice has developed so much over the past 20 years - it's been less about her keeping up with the company and more about the company keeping up with her - however what she is most proud of professionally, the challenges and opportunities she sees ahead for those working in New Zealand’s staffing and recruitment industries. Janice believes there is plenty of scope for industry participants to “promote adoption of best practice and to rise above the noise”.
