Overview:

Creating awareness and understanding around workplace safety is a critical capability within on-hire consulting. By creating safe working environments not only are you ensuring compliance, but you are also approaching safety comprehensively where your employees feel safe to do their jobs to the fullest.
 
Join New Zealand WHS trainer, Matt Jones in this workshop to get a fresh perspective on the purpose of the NZ, Health, and Safety at Work Act. Address workplace safety and learn about what the key responsibilities of a recruitment and staffing on-hire professional.
 
This is an online workshop where attendees will engage with interactive activities, participant interaction will be encouraged through problem and solution-orientated thinking. Learners will be able to put into play safe work practices with confidence, certainty, and ease.

The video workshop will be held on Tuesday, 13 September at 9.30am - 11.30 am NZST.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • Why the Health and Safety at Work Act came to be
  • An appreciation for the guiding principles of the Act
  • Thorough understanding of the three duty holder types
  • Foundational knowledge of risk management practices
  • How to generate meaningful conversations
  • Putting corrective actions into practice and the continual improvement process

Meet the facilitator: Matt Jones



Matt Jones is the Founding Director of Advanced Safety, a New Zealand based health and safety consultancy franchise, servicing diverse businesses throughout the country. Matt is the founder of the New Zealand Health and Safety Professionals, an author and HASANZ registered.

Father of five, mentor and volunteer, he is passionate about helping business leaders and teams find their confidence and discover what they are truly capable of.
