The RCSA is invested in providing a comprehensive training package for new recruitment consultants joining the industry. Sales & Marketing from the Desk is the final topic of the Recruitment Consulting Essentials online program.  This entry level course will qualify learners with the basic knowledge and an understanding of the skills across key processes involved within recruitment sales. The purpose of this course is to prepare learners with a pathway option that leads to further training, specialising within their industry and or role requirement within their organisation.

The learning outcomes of Sales & Marketing from the Desk reflects current industry entry practice and the must have skills associated with sales across all parts of the recruitment process. Personal success within the recruitment and staffing industry comes in the form of professional conduct and upholding the principles, laws, ethics and conventions of a profession as a way of practice. Sales & Marketing from the Desk will enable learners to gain knowledge of the best practices and ethical behaviours that underpin RCSA Member standards.

The topic is delivered virtually using Zoom which will be held across 3 x 2-hr sessions over the course of a 1 week period.

Meet the facilitator: Karen Palmer



For more than 20 years in the Human Resources & Recruitment industry Karen has developed a comprehensive understanding and talent for developing recruitment consultants. Her enthusiastic approach and extensive experiences shared in the workshop keeps participants engaged from minute one.

Within the Recruitment industry Karen has held the following positions: Temporary & Permanent Consultant; Operations & Project Manager; Trainer; Assesor; and Internal Human Resource Recruitment Advisor. For over 10 years Karen had the responsibility and privilege of training, "one on one" at all levels. The highlight of her career was the role of State Trainer for NSW, ACT, NT and QLD. Working closely with Executives and Branch Managers she developed unique programmes for individuals and teams of employees in both Industrial and Commercial areas.

Karen appreciates that we are all individuals, with different learning styles and abilities. "It is very rewarding to show someone how they can grow themselves successfully."
