Learn how to develop the formula for fact-finding interviews and remove the guess work when interviewing candidates under the guidance of a facilitator with over 20 years’ experience.

Sydney Workshop Interviewing Essentials

Interviewing is the fundamental practice for any consultant regardless of their industry or experience. Recruitment uses interviewing processes when sourcing candidates, completing reference checks, client visits and take job briefs. This one day workshop will improve the way your consultant interviews.

Are candidates getting better at misleading consultants? Or are consultants not investing in the interviews? Learn how to develop the formula for fact-finding interviews and remove the guess work when interviewing candidates under the guidance of a facilitator with over 20 years’ experience.

This workshop goes beyond the candidate interview into the client visit and the reference checking process. Participants will be shown professional techniques to question (interview) the client more effectively, as well as increase the quality of conversations with referees - enhancing the benefit of Reference Checking as a valuable sales tool. Remove the bias through effective questioning and uncover the true characteristics of the applicant, saving time and money!

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop effective listening & communication techniques
  • Understanding your Client and Candidate motivations and expectations
  • Develop techniques to uncover more in Client and Candidate interviews
  • Develop Competency Based Behavioural questions
  • Develop questioning techniques for client and referee interactions
  • Understanding the different types of interviews and interview traps

Who Should Attend:

Consultants new to the industry with less than 6 months' experience in the recruitment role, or those who have been in the role between 6 - 12 months and require a refresher.

Within the Recruitment industry Karen has held the following positions: Temporary & Permanent Consultant; Operations & Project Manager; Trainer; Assesor; and Internal Human Resource Recruitment Advisor. For over 10 years Karen had the responsibility and privilege of training, "one on one" at all levels.

The highlight of her career was the role of State Trainer for NSW, ACT, NT and QLD. Working closely with Executives and Branch Managers she developed unique programmes for individuals and teams of employees in both Industrial and Commercial areas.
