COVID-19 Vaccine and Workplace Relations: Where do I stand?

 

Overview:

Australia has commenced its long-awaited COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout. While this is a positive step towards combatting COVID-19, the rollout has highlighted significant concerns held by employers and employees alike as to what their legal rights and obligations are when it comes to the vaccination. 

RCSA members are invited to hear from Nick Tindley, Partner with FCB Workplace Law the Executive Manager of Consulting and Advisory Services at FCB HR,  and Brooke Lord, Head of Policy and Advocacy at RCSA, about the COVID-19 vaccine's implications on workplace relations. 

While members will be able to ask questions of Nick and Brooke throughout the session, we do invite members to submit questions prior to the session in order for the presentation to address the specific concerns that members may hold. Member can submit their questions here.

Meet Nick Tindley:

Nick Tindley is a partner with FCB Workplace Law and the Executive Manager of HR Consulting and Advisory Services at FCB HR. He has over 12 years' experience in providing industrial relations and employment law advise, with particular expertise in the retail industry. In his role as Executive Manager, Nick supervises both the consulting and advisory teams at FCB HR and is responsible for managing a number of key client relationships.

At FCB HR, Nick's areas of expertise include:
  • Negotiating enterprise agreements;
  • Managing No-Disadvantage Test/Better Off Overall Test compliance;
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts;
  • Managing executive terminations and redundancies;
  • Managing underpayment claims;
  • Advising on equal opportunity and harassment issues; and
  • Advising on how to manage ill and injured workers.

Meet Brooke Lord:

Brooke Lord is the Head of Policy and Advocacy at RCSA. Brooke is an executive corporate affairs professional with experience heading up government, communications and corporate affairs functions for a number of high profile businesses and organisations in both public and private sectors.
