Overview:

This workshop is focused on developing effective plans for employees returning to work after illness or injury. Outcomes emphasise creating tailored strategies that facilitate a smooth transition back to the workplace, ensuring both physical and mental health are supported. 

Gain an understanding of the design of return to work plans which consider the individual needs of each employee, the modification of duties, the timing of the plan, and the importance of maintaining contact with the employee throughout their recovery.

This training is aimed at recruitment and staffing compliance roles with a focus on supporting return to work coordinators specifically working in personal injury management. This course would also suit HR specialists managing injured workers, as well as any leader within an organisation who has an interest in supporting return to work initiatives.

The content of this workshop will support Australian consultants only.

Learning Objectives:

Participants of this workshop will learn: 
  • Understanding Return to Work Plans: Recognise the importance and impact of structured return-to-work plans in facilitating timely and successful recovery at work. 
  • Roles & Responsibilities: Key stakeholders and their roles in the return-to-work process.
  • Develop Basic Strategies: Gain foundational skills in creating return-to-work plans that consider an employee’s health, job role, capacity & wellbeing.
  • Timing and Planning Essentials: Understand the key elements of timely planning for return-to-work processes. Assessing employee capabilities, settling realistic goals & timelines.
  • Effective Communication Principles: Acquire essential communication techniques for engaging with employees during their recovery. Building a positive & inclusive workplace culture following a workplace injury. 
  • Return to Work Success Stories: Case studies & examples of successful return to work initiatives 

Who Should Attend:

This training is applicable for recruitment and staffing compliance roles where learning is aimed to support Return to Work Coordinators specifically working in personal injury management. This course would also suit HR specialists managing injured workers as well as any leader within an organisation who has an interest in supporting return to work initiatives.

Meet the facilitator: Kathryn Drake 

Leading Health Path as the Principal Consultant is Kathryn Drake, a distinguished professional in the field of injury management and return-to-work strategies. 

With over a decade of experience in the Workers' Compensation industry, Kathryn has honed her expertise in managing complex, high-risk cases and developing effective return-to-work programs. 

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics, Return to Work Coordinator Training, and a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, complementing her practical experience. 

Kathryn is also a certified mental health first aid trainer, a qualification that allows her to provide mental health first aid training as a valuable service to Health Path clients.

  • All start and end times listed are displayed in Melbourne | Australian Eastern Standard/Daylight Time unless stated otherwise

  • RCSA workshops are not recorded and participants are required to attend using their own device with a working webcam and microphone

Pricing:

  • Member registration to attend the workshop is $235 AUD plus GST per participant*
  • A group registration rate is available for a minimum of 5 registrations for members from the same organisation. To qualify for this rate, each of the 5 attendees must be registered at the time of booking at the group rate of $211.00 AUD plus GST per participant (minimum total $1055.00 AUD plus GST)

*NZ participants do not pay the GST
