How to Develop Effective Negotiation Skills

How to Develop Effective Negotiation Skills

Overview:

The challenge for recruitment and staffing firms during the Covid-19 crisis and looking at the economic recovery ahead is to figure out how to protect and increase revenues.   It will be the ability to grow business that will separate leading firms from the pack when the economy rebounds, as it eventually will.

In any economic downturn clients  will look to be seeking a discount with who they do business with.  Professional recruiters are no different, how do you manage the conversation where your clients are challenging general terms:

  • all other agencies are doing if for 10%
  • all other agencies are offering a six or twelve month guarantee
  • if you don't drop your margin, we will hire the contractor / temp direct
  • We don't have the budget
  • There are many candidates on the market, so your candidate must be more flexible
The negotiation skills and techniques used by recruiters prior to Covid-19 are unlikely to be creating the impact needed to manage the change firms are now facing.  If you want to understand how you can negotiate in a post Covid-19 business environment then register now.
