What you need to know about the SCHADs Award changes

Overview:

On 31 January 2022, the Fair Work Commission (FWC)—as part of their 4 yearly review— handed down a determination on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADs) Award 2020, and in doing so, made a number of significant changes that RCSA members must be aware of and implementing, as of 1 July 2022.

The changes include:

  • Minimum engagement and payment for part-time and casual employees;
  • On-call allowance;
  • Remote response work;
  • Payment for broken shifts;
  • Reimbursement for client cancellations;
  • Right for part-time employees to request to increase their part-time hours;
  • 24-hour care; and
  • Laundering of clothing other than uniforms.

All RCSA members who employ their workers under the SCHADs Award are strongly encouraged to attend this webinar where our expert legal partners at HR Assured will provide an overview of the changes, how they should be applied, and answer any questions that you may have.

Who Should Attend:

This webinar will suit recruiters, consultants, staffing agency directors, leaders, and payroll managers with responsibility and/or an interest in interpreting Awards, determining payments and conditions, and drafting employment contracts.

Meet your Hosts:
