Why RCSA Advocacy Matters for Members

9 July

Many of the biggest wins for RCSA members happen quietly, but they have huge impact. It is critical, at this time of Membership renewal, that our Members know how we collectively make our difference. Why unity is critical to our future success.

They happen in meetings with government departments. In submissions to regulatory reviews. In discussions about policy that could reshape how recruitment businesses operate.

This work is led by the RCSA Advocacy Team, whose role is to represent the interests of the recruitment, staffing, and workforce solutions industry across Australia and New Zealand.

RCSA CEO Charles Cameron says advocacy is one of the most important ways the association protects its members.

“The work of our advocacy team often happens behind the scenes,” Cameron explains,

“But it is critical in ensuring the recruitment industry has a strong voice with government and policy makers.”

RCSA is the peak body for the recruitment and staffing sector across Australia and New Zealand, representing businesses that connect employers with talent and help labour markets function effectively. In this role, the association regularly engages with governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders on issues that directly affect recruitment firms.

Representing Members Where It Matters

Policy changes in areas such as recruitment, staffing and labour hire regulation, procurement rules, workplace relations, and employment law can have a direct impact on recruitment businesses.

The RCSA advocacy team works to ensure the industry’s perspective is understood when these policies are being developed.

Cameron says the goal is simple. Make sure decisions that affect recruitment firms are informed by people who actually understand the industry.

“Our role is to make sure governments and stakeholders understand the value professional recruitment and staffing businesses deliver to the economy,” he says.

A Stronger Voice for the Industry

Advocacy is essential to the future of the recruitment sector. The recruitment and staffing industry plays a vital role in connecting people with work and helping organisations access the skills they need. That value is not always fully understood. Advocacy ensures our industry has a clear and credible voice.

For RCSA members, this work provides an important layer of support.

While agencies focus on serving clients and candidates, the association works behind the scenes to protect the environment in which those businesses operate.

It is one of the reasons many recruitment leaders see RCSA membership as more than a professional affiliation.

It is representation. It is protection. And it is a powerful voice for the industry when it matters most. Thank you for standing as one. Part of our Union!
