Advanced Influencing Skills

Overview:

Recruiting is sales. And one of the core traits of any successful salesperson is the ability (or ‘power’) to influence.

As a recruiter, think about all your daily interactions. You’re not only trying to influence and sell to your clients (hiring managers or decision makers within target organisations). You’re influencing talent, and more often than you probably realise, you’re trying to convince your colleagues to consider one of your candidates or open job briefs.

No matter how long you’ve been in the game, there’s no certainty that the person sitting next to you, across the table from you, or on the other end of the phone from you will share your passion, enthusiasm and conviction for whatever (or whoever) it is you’re trying to sell. Points of view may differ; competing agendas may clash; barriers will be put up.

Join Paul Slezak in this short workshop and who has designed for RCSA an exclusive session giving recruiters of all levels hands-on, practical advice around how to construct a compelling case and present it with the confidence and authority that will make people want to say “yes”. Developing stronger influencing skills will allow you to build more solid relationships with prospective as well as current clients, your candidates as well as your colleagues.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Put your natural communication style to best use
  • Respond appropriately to other communication styles
  • Secure buy-in and collaboration from your ‘customers’ at all levels
  • Gain an insight into the guiding principles of effective influencing
  • Handle objections with confidence and a sense of natural authority
  • Have more in-depth conversations and become a trusted advisor
  • Appreciate the ‘unspoken word’ or hidden agenda and capture the imagination of your listener.

Who Should Attend:

  • Perm, Temp and or Contract Recruiters
  • Executive Search Consultants
