Overview:

As a member of the RCSA and your recognition as a professional recruiter you are legally obligated to comply with all aspects of Australian employment law and ensure your employees can work comfortably in a safe and secure environment – free of bullying, discrimination, and harassment.

Complying with employment law is no joke, being compliant is not only good business practice but foremost enables recruiters to be confidant and handle conversations had  with clients and candidates.  The objective of this plan to learn program is to ensure recruiters know their responsibilities across the following basics:
 
  • National Employment Standards (NES): The national minimum wage and the NES make up the minimum entitlements for employees in Australia.
  • Modern Awards/Agreements: is a document which sets out the minimum terms and conditions of employment on top of the National Employment Standards (NES).
  • Employment Contracts including calculating rates of pay

    Learning Outcomes:

    • NES: who is covered and what makes up the NES
    • Modern Awards:  what is a modern award, who is covered, when modern awards don't apply & keeping up to date and understand how common Award clauses apply to on-hire employment
    • Employment Contracts: conditions set out in your contracts and the broader conditions that may affect what on-hire workers
