Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder Engagement

Overview:

Stakeholder engagement is all about involving people who may be affected by business decisions in the decision-making process; giving them an opportunity to express how they feel about the matter and to influence the implementation and/or outcome of the decision.

This presentation will broadly canvass both internal and external stakeholder engagement. Internal engagement involves engaging your employees in a shared vision, being clear about how your business operates and who needs to be involved in making key decisions.

External engagement, on the other hand, requires a critical understanding of who you need to connect with to get work across the line. From a recruitment perspective, this may involve getting HR managers as well as business partners/advisors on side in order to retain a long-term client.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Consideration of ways to approach stakeholder engagement – external and internal
  • Tools for managing stakeholder relationships

Who Should Attend:

Experienced consultants, Leaders and Directors.

Meet the facilitator: Martin Richardson

Martin has spent the last 12 years working as a senior legal adviser inside some of Australia’s foremost companies, as well as within the Australian businesses of some of the world’s largest companies.

As ‘inside counsel’ Martin has learned that any effective commercial legal adviser understands how to balance the role of business defender with the role of business partner. As a member of several senior management teams Martin also has a sound understanding of the role of legal advice within broader commercial frameworks, and that legal problems are best framed as part of a larger commercial challenge.

Martin’s personal approach and experience lends itself perfectly to any business that requires a hands-on legal adviser that doesn’t get bogged down in jargon when providing advice and assistance, and requires solid relationships at all levels of an organisation. Martin is also solutions focused and goes out of his way to understand the impact of his advice on his clients and how they can best harness his advice.
