Victorian Labour Hire Licensing - What you Need to Know

Victorian Labour Hire Licensing Scheme Start Dates Announced

Overview:

Victoria's Minister for Industrial Relations announced that applications for labour hire licenses under the Victorian scheme will commence on 29 April 2019.

Businesses who provide labour hire services in Victoria will have 6 months from that date to apply for a license or risk penalty under the scheme. While the specific commencement date is new information, the introduction of a labour hire licensing scheme in Victoria in the first half of 2019 has been anticipated by the sector since the passage of legislation to support it in mid-2018.

Similar to the scheme in place in Queensland, labour hire operators in Victoria will be required to pass a fit and proper person test, show compliance with relevant workplace relations legislation and report regularly to the authority on activity.

With the commencement date now confirmed, this webinar will focus on the key things members can do to get a head start on preparing for your licensing application.

Learning Outcomes:
  • A simple overview of the major elements contained in the legislation and the requirements it will pose on their operation
  • Better understand the implications for their business
