RCSA is super excited to announce the appointment of Winsome Bernard as our first ever Head of Judging for the RCSA Industry Awards 2023. CEO, Charles Cameron, decided to create the position on the back of year-on-year growth in popularity and importance of the awards.
More people are entering and more firms are relying upon the industry awards to define themselves in the market, so it is our obligation to take the awards to the next level.
The RCSA Industry Awards Head of Judging will be responsible for the following.
- Advising on the nomination/invitation process used to select judges for each year’s awards
- Advising on the categories each judge is allocated to judge to ensure diversity and fairness (actual and perceived)
- If required/requested, ruling on a judge’s actual or perceived conflict of interest that may arise in the category(ies) they are judging
- In conjunction with the RCSA, ensuring each entry is eligible for the category in which they have entered
- In conjunction with the RCSA, providing, as deemed necessary, training to judges
- In conjunction with the RCSA, answering questions that may arise from judges about the judging process
- Providing a tiebreaker vote in the event that any category requires such a vote
- Providing calibration if requested, required or deemed necessary by themselves or the RCSA
- Ensuring appropriate and constructive comments are provided by each judge to each entry they assess
- After the completion of the awards, providing feedback and recommendations to the RCSA with respect to improvements for the following year’s awards.
